Sr. GL Accountant (EM6915)
Position Summary:

The Sr. GL Accountant is responsible for managing financial operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation in compliance with GAAP. This role manages the general ledger, handle tax inquiries, support audits, and assist in budgeting and financial analysis.The Sr. GL Accountant will assist with process improvements and support the Finance Leader.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process
- Prepare a variety of accounting/clerical tasks relating to the documentation, recording, processing and filing of accounting and financial information
- Manage the general ledger, monthly closing process and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Responding to inquiries from the IRS, State, and other tax authorities
- Researching and consulting on various tax matters
- The position leads all financial administration and fiscal management of a business unit and communicates any potential profitability or risk to Finance Leader, while overseeing Accounting staff
- Support the Finance Leader with oversight of the accounting and finance functions
- Make suggestions regarding process improvements and assist with the implementation of new systems
- Perform a variety of accounting and finance duties including reconciliations, assisting with financial analysis, and budgeting
- Provide support document and prepare for various internal/external audits and also support the quarter end review and year-end audit processes
- Perform company internal controls by following accounting and company policies and procedures
- Participate in cross training within the team to transfer knowledge of each members’ roles and responsibilities
- Perform ad-hoc reporting as required to communicate with HQ
- Perform other job related duties as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 6+ years of experience in accounting or related experience required
- Work experience and knowledge using SAP system preferred
- Ability to collect and analyze data to report so that management may perform strategic analysis
- Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
- Strong knowledge of financial/cost management, accounting principles, and internal controls
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting theory
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
