Our client is a recognized global leader of the vision industry with 4+ bn$ in revenue. For decades, its optics and opto-electrical products have been used in a wide range of applications from automotive manufacturing to logistics, pharmaceuticals, and food.

Here they play a key role in the automation of production processes and optical quality inspection like defect detection, surface inspection or geometric measurement.

In line with their strategy for the US market we are looking for a

Managing Director – Head of Vision Systems US

You will be responsible to develop and implement strategic plans for the client’s medium sized machine vision and scope divisions growth and lead the organization’s operational and financial functions in the US. This exciting job opportunity is based in Los Angeles.

Tasks
  • Optimize current business operations by reviewing current processes and enhancing commercial, marketing, and product management functions;
  • Develop a 3-5 year strategic plan and translate it into executable operational plans, leading the divisions and building an organization that supports these plans through talent development;
  • Reallocate and optimize resources as necessary in consultation with the CEO to implement the management plans;
  • Review the financial results of all operations, compare them with the company's objectives, and take appropriate measures to improve performance and results;
  • Support and manage negotiations with other companies regarding actions such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, or collaborations.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in business development, sales or marketing and problem-solving at a corporate level, including experience under the direct supervision of C-suite members, preferably within Japanese companies;
  • 5+ years experience in the machine vision industry or in industrial automation;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in Engineering, Business (MBA), Economics, or other related highly analytical disciplines;
  • Strong leadership, talent management and organizational skills with the ability to influence, inspire, and lead change;
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English; basic Japanese language skills or a strong interest in Japanese culture is mandatory;
  • Experience with the M&A process, including establishing deal rationale, negotiations with targets, due diligence, and post-merger integration (preferred but not mandatory).
