Account Specialist (Ocean Transportation)

Summary:

An industry leading Ocean Transportation company is looking to hire an Account Specialist. This is a full-time permanent position that offers benefits from day 1.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee account performance and growth, focusing on business retention and development.
• Build strong client relationships to ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with sales, commercial teams, agencies, and domestic/overseas offices to secure new business and maintain service quality.
• Manage a structured call cycle with assigned accounts as per management standards.
• Oversee service contracts, processing renewals per sales management timelines.
• Keep customer records up to date per Sales Standards (e.g., account profiles, contact details).
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
• Assist in problem-solving for customers and support Account Executives.
• Support sales objectives by analyzing leads, competitor data, and reports to target key/new accounts.
• Stay informed on tariff and rate changes, coordinating with Pricing and other offices.
• Utilize company systems and tools (e.g., Stars Tariff, Sales & Marketing Reports, Trade Database) in daily tasks.
