Payroll Accountant - Robert Half

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the finance industry for a Payroll Accountant. You will play a vital role in maintaining and processing payroll-related transactions and ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting matters.

Responsibilities:

• Execute bi-monthly and off-cycle payroll operations
• Prepare and examine payroll reports for accuracy and consistency
• Record payroll and related transactions to the general ledger through monthly journal entries
• Calculate and prepare accrivals for payroll liabilities, benefits, bonuses, and PTO
• Process expense report entries reimbursed via payroll and post to the general ledger
• Handle employee stock related entries for RSU, ESPP, and ISO
• Ensure timely and accurate 401K and benefit funding transmissions
• Conduct monthly reconciliation and analysis of payroll expenses
• Review payroll processes for compliance with labor and tax laws, ensuring timely and accurate state and federal tax filings
• Develop and maintain procedures and internal controls related to payroll accounting
• Collaborate with Human Resources on payroll related audits
• Address and resolve payroll related issues and employee inquiries promptly and efficiently.
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Skilled in ADP Workforce Now
• Familiarity with Ceridian software
• Proficiency in Concur software
• Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration
• Experience with About Time software
• Mastery of Accounting Functions
• Understanding of Accrual Accounting principles
• Auditing skills and experience
