Overview:
The Network Engineer is in the IT Department, and is responsible for the firm's Windows servers, Microsoft and other SaaS/cloud administration and related systems/services. Responsibilities include ensuring the stability, integrity, and performance of these services.Experience with Azure/EntraID/Active Directory, Exchange online and hybrid, Teams, and virtualization/VDI technologies is required. Administration experience using PowerShell is preferred. Familiarity with enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS) management is a plus.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures that systems and services are running normally. Monitors alerts and dashboards for errors or problems and will analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that arise.
- Windows 2016/2019/2022 administration, including Active Directory/EntraID, user account/group management, file and directory permissions; monitoring servers/services for failures and/or resource consumption.
- Alongside the Network Services team, Administer Office 365 and Azure services.
- Respond and work to resolve support tickets sent or escalated to the Network Group. When necessary, work with other IT groups on cross-over issues.
- Deployment and Patch Management - Utilize and support deployment systems to remote control and manage assets, deploy operating systems, update applications, and implement security enhancements. Maintain operating system patch management solutions, identify software vulnerabilities, and mitigate security concerns. Plan, implement and test physical and virtual server installations, enhancements, and vendor-supplied patches.
- Work with senior engineers to configure enterprise applications in the Office 365 cloud for 3rd party app integration.
- Assist senior engineers with conditional access policies in the cloud for security and compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of all procedures and resolutions.
- Participate in the after-hours on call rotation to respond to critical end user technical needs and remediate business impacting events. Act as point of escalation as needed.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent
- 3+ year's experience
- Experience with the following servers and technologies: Microsoft Operating Systems (Linux a plus), VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, AzureAD/EntraID, Microsoft Office 365
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and desktop OS.
- Good documentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in a system administration and technical support role.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide timely advice and assistance to users while maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and document technical topics in simple terms.

In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance.
The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
Boston: $81,000 - $123,550Chicago: $81,000 - $123,550
New York: $84,900 - $129,450
Washington, D.C.: $81,000 - $123,550
Working Conditions:
This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
