Career Transitions is supporting a high growth leader in the customization and distribution of auto, trailer, RV parts and accessories who has an opening on their Elkhart Team for a Staff Accountant. This role involves a variety of tasks that support the company's financial reporting and compliance.
Staff Accountant Key responsibilities include:
- Performing month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Reconciling General Ledger accounts.
- Ensuring the integrity of the trial balance.
- Preparing financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows.
- Analyzing financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Assisting in the preparation of weekly cash flow projections, budgets, and forecasts.
- Supporting audits and appraisals by providing necessary documentation.
- Managing the company's fixed assets.
- Reviewing and submitting sales tax.
- Maintaining records of company leases.
- Providing support to location managers and reviewing critical business spending.
- Maintaining inventory costs within the system.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Staff Accountant Required Education/Experience and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Knowledge of ERP Software (Syspro is a plus).
- Proficiency in data analysis using platforms such as Excel or other business analytics programs.
