Stockroom & Distribution Assistant Manager

Overview:

This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of warehouse operations including order prioritization, team management, process improvement, safety compliance and replenishment. Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency – with customer satisfaction as the primary goal thus contributing to the overall success of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operation of shipping, incoming order processing, stock dispensing and prepacking.
• Monitor workload and workflow, prioritize work when needed. Reassign staff and work as needed.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators to be able to identify areas of improvement and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure FIFO & FEFO principles are followed and maintained
• Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the warehouse. Understand and leverage foundational tools such as Daily management, Problem solving, 5S and Process/Value Stream Mapping to deliver operational improvements.
• Drive sustainable results through employee engagement and inclusion. Balance tactical business requirements with employee development and coaching leveraging a “Servant leadership” based approach.
• Schedule and complete periodic performance evaluations.
• Provide staff training and continuous development of employees.
• Counsel staff and resolve disputes accordingly
• Ensure all duties are performed according to available instructions and standards.
• Schedule, conduct and lead meetings with staff and collaborate with other departments to enhance customer experience.
• Investigate shipping related complaints and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree required in Business or related field
• The right candidate must have 10 years of proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar role.
• Comfortable operating in ERP systems such as D365, SAP
• Experience leveraging a WMS (Warehouse Management System) to manage operations, configuration of the warehouse setup and to drive operational efficiencies.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
• Seasoned leader with strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills comfortable communicating up and down the organization.
• Must be able to handle conflicts and resolve staff-related issues in line with company policies and procedures
• Able to work independently and thrive in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to keep the warehouse running smoothly.
• Ability to quickly identify and resolve operational challenges that may arise in the warehouse. Experience leveraging foundational problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
• Experience within a culture of Continuous Improvement with demonstrated experience managing change within a warehouse environment.
• Must adhere to OSHA standards and enforce initiatives relevant to warehousing to maintain safe and healthy work environment.
