JOB SUMMARY: This management position is directly responsible for the Airport's Building Maintenance and Janitorial Departments and the responsibilities assigned to each. In coordination with the Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer, this position is also responsible for the planning, execution and oversight of significant maintenance and repair projects and their associated contracts.

Communication and coordination with the Authority’s Managers and airport tenant managers is a major requirement of the job.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

  1. Perform a Facilities Condition Assessment and provide lifecycle asset management through the development, planning and execution of a Major Maintenance and Infrastructure Replacement Program for facilities throughout the Airport’s campus environment.
  2. Ensure the safe and seamless opening of all new and renovated facilities through the development and oversight of an Operational Readiness, Activation & Transition (ORAT) program.
  3. Responsible for coordinating with the Building Maintenance and Janitorial Department Managers as well as other immediate subordinates to achieve the Authority’s objectives, goals and KPIs associated with Strategic Plan.
  4. Provides leadership, coordination and oversight, through subordinate managers, to a variety of terminal operations activities, including building maintenance and janitorial managers, supervisors, and frontline employees, ensuring cohesive teamwork and efficient operations.
  5. Participates in long- and short-term departmental planning and policy formation of building maintenance and janitorial departments. Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for these departments.
  6. Prepare the budgets of the forenamed departments as well as approve all expenditures requested by the same.
  7. Directs the conduct of a variety of analytical studies related to areas of assignment.
  8. Directs the maintenance of accurate records and files and prepares and directs the preparation of a variety of periodic and special reports, procedures, correspondence and other written materials.
  9. Monitors developments in technology, legislation and industry best practices which may affect overall operations; evaluates their effect upon airport terminal operations and activities and recommends improvements.
  10. Responsible for the coordination, oversight and execution of Capital Improvement Program projects as assigned, terminal renovations as required and all airport maintenance projects and outside maintenance contracts including the assurance that all contractors operating on the airport abide by the airport’s rules and regulations as well as conform with all contractual requirements.
  11. Develops and maintains liaison with airport tenants and carriers; represents the airport in meetings with representatives of other public and private organizations
  12. Ensures that all airport areas are properly maintained and contain no unsafe operating conditions. This includes monitoring the maintenance of all buildings and facilities within the Airport to ensure the high standards of safety and cleanliness.
  13. Responsible for the maintenance of all airport blueprints, drawings, maintenance records and contracts and related files and data.
  14. Performs all other duties as assigned and directed.
  15. Adhere to all Authority personnel policies and departmental guidelines.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES – Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public business administration, planning, engineering or a closely related field.
  2. Two years of the appropriate type and level of experience will serve as an equivalency to one year of education. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, eight years of relevant experience can be substituted.
  • EXPERIENCE:
  1. Must display a minimum of seven years of progressive professional experience to include a minimum of four years of supervisory experience.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  1. Industry professional and/or technical certifications preferred.
