Accounting Clerk

We are seeking a dedicated Accounting Clerk for a long-term contract opportunity in Richmond, Virginia. The role is based in the education sector and will involve providing financial advice and support to students. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be tasked with accurately entering student financial information, maintaining the confidentiality of meetings, and providing excellent customer service to students with regard to their accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately enter and update student financial data into the system
• Conduct regular checks on student information ahead of each semester
• Maintain strict confidentiality during meetings and in handling student data
• Provide high-quality customer service when discussing account details with students
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and account reconciliation tasks
• Manage billing processes and resolve any related issues
• Respond to and resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Monitor student accounts and take necessary actions based on account status
• Ensure all tasks are carried out in compliance with industry standards
• Maintain a continuous line of communication with students regarding their financial status. • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is essential
• Experience in Billing is required
• Must possess excellent Data Entry skills
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel is necessary
• Strong Customer Service skills are crucial
• Must have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational skills are required
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize workload efficiently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of accounting is beneficial
• Previous experience in an Accounting Clerk role is desirable
• Knowledge of general accounting principles is required
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software will be an advantage.
