Part Time Para-Professional - Fleet Services
Position Concept:
The Part Time Paraprofessional-Fleet Services maintains the fleet of the agency vehicles and the ground in and around the Fleet Services Section. The member assists the Fleet Services Section in all aspects of their related jobs.
The most important and essential job function of the position is attitude which includes the following: interacting positively and cooperating with co-workers, responding politely to customers, working as a team member, functioning under intense time pressure and responding in a positive manner to supervision.
The Part Time Paraprofessional-Fleet Services may perform other related duties and tasks, as required and shall have the physical, mental and emotional abilities to perform the essential job duties of the position.
Essential Functions:

- Interact with members and Command Staff
- Interact with the public
- Operate variety of vehicles
- Make deliveries and pick-up parts
- Maintain vehicles and parts
- Perform electrical repair on vehicles/trailers
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles/assets
- Attend demos for Sheriff’s Office functions
- Maintain records of equipment inventory
- Maintain monthly/quarterly reports
- Maintain grounds/office complex
- Assist specialty equipment repairs
- Wash specialty vehicles
- Attend meetings
- Deliver large amounts of equipment
- Assist with office duties
Education, Professional Certification or License:
- High School or GED
- Valid Florida driver's license
Professional Experience:
- None required
Environmental Conditions:
- Work is subject to stand-by/or call out for emergencies and shift work
- Must carry a pager and/or cell phone when on/off duty
- Work involves day and/or night
- Work involves exposure to inclement weather
- Work may require acts of physical endurance and agility
