Our BCBA Clinical Specialists (called ‘Navigators’ internally) are behavior consultants that look to affect behavior change in systems. This role is for a BCBA looking to expand and grow as a clinician, working with a wide range of age group, diagnoses, and systems.We provide training and hands-on support for all the new learnings/ experiences you will need.There is no oversight of BI’s/ BT’s in this role.

Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 high quality, specialized behavior intervention services to assigned individuals diagnosed with autism disorder, development delays and/or other related disabilities through planned interventions, which may include discrete trials, antecedent and consequence modifications, and planned and intermittent reinforcement.
- Provides intensive, specialized services and supports to individuals at risk for acute crisis or loss of residential placement, and individuals who are currently experiencing crisis, including crisis planning and wraparound services, typically for individuals (6yo+) with developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Design and conduct functional behavior assessments, including functional analysis.
- Proactively develop, implement, and monitor client individualized treatment plans, following best practices guidelines, to ensure skill acquisition and behavior reduction, track progress toward established goals, and modify plans as needed.
- Accurately and timely complete and maintain necessary documentation, including assessment evaluations, treatment notes, supervision session, transition reports, and exit summaries. Request pertinent reports from other ESSC programs, as appropriate.
- Be available for consult once an incident report has been filed.
- Meet productivity requirements by conducting monthly supervision hours for assigned clients, reaching 100% of contract hours.
- Plan and develop specialized training and instructional materials to support client safety and independence, treatment plan implementation, and data collection.
- Conduct training monthly and/or as needed per client needs.
- Deliver ongoing consultation in assigned setting (e.g., participant home, residential facilities, etc.)
- Coordinate care with other service lines, including medical team members, regional center, day programs, OT, PT, SLP, nurse, dieticians, and more, to maintain consistent communication between all support team members.
- Provide caregiver training using behavior skills training method to ensure skill acquisition and maintenance.
- Provide intensive case management to individuals with complex needs and service history.
- Complete reports for funding source (i.e., KP and regional center) and present at client meetings.
- Plan and participate in intake and discharge meetings per client needs.
- Be familiar with and adhere to each funding source plan design.
- Initiate and provide on-going communication to Director.
- Prepare and provide reports regarding monthly caseload status.
- Remain current and report updates on changes to Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) standards, new research, current trends and developments in autism and related fields.
- Work collaboratively with other Behavior Consultants and providers to ensure consistency of service.
- Be available to work weekends or holidays, when required and per identified needs.
- Travel as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s degree in ABA or related field.
- Must possess and maintain a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
EXPERIENCE:
- Have at least 2 years of supervision experience working with individuals with autism and/or other developmental disabilities.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience working with individuals with autism and/or other developmental disabilities.
- The Behavior Consultant should have prior experience in managing challenging behaviors and implementing behavior reduction treatment plans, programming experience in areas of Verbal Behavior, ADL, IADL, TA, skills teaching, caregiver education, and staff training.
- It is preferred that the Behavior Consultant have previous experience working with adults in various capacities.
- Expertise in approaches to intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. Competent in employing and directing behavior analytic methodologies including Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Behavior Skills Training (BST), and Experimental Functional Analysis (EFA). Experience with conducting the following assessments: AFLS, Vineland, EFL, and VBMAPP.

- Ability to pass a post-offer crisis management training, physical examination, and a TB test.
- Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity. A signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
- Ability to travel locally (e.g., residential homes, day program, etc.).; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
- Must possess and maintain a current CPR certification.
