Advanced Digital Dental Laboratory Manager
This full-time supervisory position will provide oversight for an in-house digital dental lab in support of the predoctoral educational program, advanced educational programs and the faculty dental practice. This position includes complex digital laboratory technician assignments, coordinating a digital dentistry workflow, overseeing the work of other dental laboratory technicians, provide training in applying techniques required to fabricate and repair dental appliances, and foster interpersonal skills to work closely with dentists.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee in-house production for digital dental services for the Predoctoral Education program, Advanced Education Programs and the Faculty Dental PracticePerforms dental laboratory technician assignments which are recognized as the most complex.Exercises authority and responsibility for an assigned program area.Manage and ensure compliance with digital workflows and processesOversee dental laboratory techniciansOversees and assures the quantity and quality of the work by requiring strict adherence to established methods and procedures.Serves as recognized expert within program area and provides technical assistance to other departmental staff.Coordinates work by scheduling assignments and overseeing the work of other Dental Laboratory Technicians.Explains work instructions and adapts, if necessary, pertinent general methods and procedures to meet required needs.Facilitate laboratory services including in-house milling, sintering and 3D printing of surgical guides, diagnostic casts, crowns and bridges, dentures, aligners, mouthguards and other digitally fabricated restorations and appliancesProvide post-fabrication support for staining, glazing, and modifications to milled and other fixed prosthesesTrains employees and others in dental laboratory technician activities.Coordinate and provide training on equipment and software for faculty, residents and designated staff on digitally designed and fabricated restorationsOrganize digital equipment maintenanceMaintain suppliesPreferred Qualifications 5+ years of dental laboratory experience in digital technology (Education may count towards experience)Competent in the use of digital design software (for example; 3Shape, ExoCad, CoDiagnostics, Dental Wings)Experience in the digital manufacturing of dental prosthesesExperience in basic fixed and removable prosthesis fabricationExperience with staining, glazing and modifications of ceramic restorationsExperience with training for digital equipment and software to digitally design and fabricate restorationsTarget Compensation Maximum:$77,600.00Target Compensation Minimum:$51,700.00Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.Equal Employment OpportunityThe University of Louisville is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer, and is committed to providing employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, sex, age, color, national origin, ethnicity, creed, religion, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, marital status, pregnancy, or veteran status.
