We are in search of an Administrative Assistant to join our team in Elmont NY for a contract to hire opportunity! This role primarily revolves around data entry, managing databases, and tracking benefits for a non profit specializing in health services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing mail, taking meeting minutes, and answering inbound calls. This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately update information into a proprietary database
- Prepare and manage spreadsheets for Monthly Allowances
- Handle orders for supplies and equipment
- Keep track of balances and update Financial Eligibility in Avatar
- Develop and maintain tracking systems, including computerized excel and other databases
- Generate and distribute internal memos, postings, and other printed materials
- Handle all tasks related to the processing of incoming and outgoing mail
- Record minutes at all trainings, presentations, and staff meetings as requested
- Receive, screen, and route incoming telephone calls or relay phone messages to support staff
- Prepare Monthly Personal Needs Allowances.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an Administrative Assistant role or similar position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is necessary.
- Experience with handling both inbound and outbound calls.
- Strong data entry skills are required.
- Ability to manage and maintain spreadsheets efficiently.
- Must have a track record of effectively answering inbound calls.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
