Network Engineer
Responsibilities: Designing and implementing new network solutions and improving the efficiency of current networks Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting Conducting regular network performance tests Arranging scheduled upgrades Investigating faults in the network and reporting network status to key stakeholders Based in Chicago, or able to commute.
Proven experience as a Network Engineer, Network Administrator or similar role Hands-on experience in network engineering level support Profound knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) Solid experience with network architecture and deployment models detail oriented certification (e.g., CCNP, CCDP) is a plus Strong understanding with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail Ability to work within a team and independently If you're experienced in problem-solving, detail-oriented, and have certifications related to networking, we'd like to meet you!
