We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Newark, New Jersey. The role involves various tasks related to accounts payable and financial operations within the non-profit industry. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in various software programs, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in managing financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficient and accurate processing of invoices for payments
  • Undertaking the payment of all creditors in a timely manner
  • Handling all aspects of accounts payable, including check runs and coding invoices
  • Reconciling statements and maintaining vendor records
  • Assisting in month-end closing activities and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Participating in audits as needed
  • Using Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Oracle, and SAP for various tasks
  • Ensuring data entry and invoice processing are done accurately
  • Adhering to all financial regulations and guidelines relevant to a non-profit organization
  • Respecting and maintaining the confidentiality inherent in managing the financial operations • Minimum of one year experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or similar.
  • Proficient in account reconciliation and accounts payable (AP) procedures.
  • Experience in performing check runs and coding invoices.
  • Proficiency in data entry and invoice processing.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and SAP software.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
