The Humanities Collegiate Division and the Department of Cinema and
Media Studies at the University of Chicago invites applications for

part-time Lecturers during the 2024-25 academic year.

The selected candidate will have part-time teaching opportunities for
courses that count toward the Media Arts & Design major and minor.
Courses will include experimental digital media production, augmented

and virtual reality development, AI Art, networked media creation, software art, game development, media performance, and other areas of

media arts and design practice. Courses will also include comparative

media studies (e.g. video games and music, television and cinema, etc.); history of computational and digital media; race, gender, and sexuality
in gaming; television studies; and translational media studies.
Responsibilities include preparing and teaching lecture- and/or
workshop-style courses, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and
preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials. Depending on
the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate may

teach between one and four courses per academic year.

The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by
a collective bargaining agreement between the University and Service
Employees International Union. The per-course salary for academic year
2024-25 will be at least /$7,538. This position is not benefits

eligible.

**Qualifications**

Applicants must hold a Bachelor/'s degree or equivalent. Applicants must
have professional experience in a related field and/or at least the
equivalent of one year of experience teaching at the university or

post-secondary level.
