Network Engineer I
Overview:
We have a career opportunity for a Network Engineer I to join our team!
Under the general direction of the Manager of Operational Technology, the successful candidate installs, supports, and monitors the company’s Operational Technology (OT) network infrastructure. Manages the daily activities of local and wide area network systems, performs diagnostics, schedules preventative maintenance ensuring network systems are operational, and reports systems faults.Maintain a solid technical knowledge of computer hardware, software and applications available within the industry to support our current systems.

Minimum Salary: $73,400 (Grade 9)
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to provide on-call support in a 24/7 environment and proactively identify and remedy network outages or other interruptions.
- Maintain existing network equipment, installing new equipment and replacing faulty equipment. Vendor and warranty management for Cisco hardware and software.
- Security and critical IOS update patch management.
- Prepare, maintain, and adhere to procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring network data.
- Support the network infrastructure to meet SLA requirements.
- Support and effectively operating Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wireless, Internet Connectivity, and Network Security.
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedure manuals, and help sheets for network installations, including data, voice, and video systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Four-year degree with emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Technology, MIS or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience in supporting network devices and network protocols (network switches, routers, and routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, or OSPF).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, NPS, and RADIUS configurations.
- Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Strong organization skills to balance and prioritize work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current valid driver’s license.
- Cisco Certifications (CCNA).
- Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) Layer 2 link management protocol.
- Experience in virtualized environments (VMware).
- An ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
