Legal Secretary

Our client, a renowned law firm in Arlington Heights, IL, is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Legal Secretary to add to their robust team. The ideal candidate has proven experience supporting attorneys in a litigation setting, possesses a comprehensive understanding of legal procedures and terminology, and thrives in an active, demanding environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the litigation legal team.
- Prepare, process, and edit legal documents and papers, such as summonses, subpoenas, complaints, appeals, motions, and pretrial agreements.
- Handle correspondence; manage calls and emails while maintaining confidentiality.
- Support attorneys in court proceedings by handling document delivery, witnesses, and reports as necessary.
- Manage court calendar, track trial dates, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist with legal research as required by the attorneys.
- Organize case files and maintain a robust document management system.
- Liaise with clients, court personnel, and other law offices.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in legal studies or a closely related field.
- At least three years of experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably within litigation.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and court procedures.
- Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- High level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
