ABOUT THIS ROLE
As an AV Support Engineer you will support Audible’s AV global portfolio of hardware and services. In this role, an AV Support Engineer supports meeting and event infrastructure and services ensuring that AV rooms are highly available. You have a broad understanding of industry standards and Audible’s hardware and processes.You are responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues. You will support all aspects of events, including triaging requests, planning, execution, and post-production. You recommend and support enhancements to the AV program.
Successful team members step seamlessly into a corporate events environment, have strong organizational skills, ability to work across multiple teams in Audible and Amazon, demonstrate impeccable customer service, and are energetically driven to meet the needs of their customers and the team.
ABOUT YOU
You have experience supporting AV infrastructure and live events. You can be strategic and are influenced by Technology and Culture but balance that with execution of daily tasks to maintain a high bar for customer service. Not every request will have a clear starting point so you should be comfortable dealing with ambiguity to assess and manage requests and have situational awareness to anticipate and resolve potential issues.When an issue does arise, you always attempt to look for the root cause and solve problems with a bigger picture in mind. As an AV Support Engineer, you will...- Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot AV systems, particularly complex integrated systems such as large conference rooms, training rooms, executive rooms and bespoke or legacy systems
- Work with on-premise IT and AV technicians, contractors and integrators through troubleshooting and repair procedures
- Support life cycle replacement tasks and manage inventory
- Be a POC during events planning and execution for the team, customers, organizers, production engineers, livestream technicians, third-party production providers and over-hire labor
- Seek opportunities to help others improve skillsets and knowledge base
- Dynamically flex to customer needs and complications, escalates appropriately
- Find opportunities to improve infrastructure and execute events more efficiently to delight our customers
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the business and industry
- Manage team goals, and programmatic initiatives, with increased ambiguity
- Support your team’s operational excellence, including creation of and monitoring of metrics and alerts, gathering of and analyzing customer feedback, regular scrutinization of processes, and maintaining documentation
- Create regular reports to share insights with leadership
- Be able to lift or carry equipment up to 40 lbs and use hand tools as needed
- Have the ability to work at height (- Maintain a flexible schedule, including occasional after hours work
- Be able to travel several times a year

- 5+ years of experience in the AV sector with a proven record of effectively commissioning, configuring, troubleshooting or installing corporate AV systems
- Experience working with AV technologies such as Extron, Crestron, BiAmp, Cisco, Shure and Poly; control systems, DTP systems, matrix switchers, extenders and audio DSPs
- Experience with network technology including video and audio over IP (e.g. Dante/AES)
- 5+ years of experience in event or production management
- 5+ years of experience with audio, video, lighting, and staging systems
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization- 3+ years of supporting a windows server environment experience
- 3+ years of experience driving end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
- 2+ years of show calling experience
- Crestron DMC-T or DMC-E Certification
- Experience building processes, project management plans, and schedules
- Experience managing vendors
- Experience supporting livestream platforms
- Additional Certifications or formal training by AV manufacturers (e.g. Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Cisco, Dante, etc.)
