Job Description
This estimator will:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare cost estimates.
- Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop accurate budgets and schedules.
- Identify potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Prepare and present bid proposals, ensuring competitiveness and accuracy.
- Maintain a database of historical cost data for use in future estimates.
- Stay current with industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies.
- Assist in contract negotiations and review of final project budgets.

The Successful Applicant
The Estimator should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
- Knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and market trends.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
