Registered Nurse (RN) - Apheresis

Responsibilities:

Monday-Friday (3 days a week) 9am-5:30pm

On call weekend requirement/holidays 7am-7:30pm every 4th-5th weekend.
  • The registered nurse develops, implements and evaluates the nursing plan of patient care and implements the medical plan of care in collaboration with all disciplines.
  • Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care.
  • Deliver excellent nursing care through evaluations, planning, implementation, and documentation while serving a diverse patient population with complex concerns.
  • Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
  • Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Hemodialysis and/or Critical Care nursing experience desired.
  • Proficiency with IV starts and phlebotomy required.
Certification and Licensure
  • PA Registered Nurse License

Unit Overview
  • The Apheresis Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to ensure delivery of quality nursing and technical care related to Apheresis procedures, such as Plasmapheresis, Red Blood Cell Exchange and Lipid Apheresis.
  • Unit is small procedural dept.
  • Department serving all apheresis procedures throughout the hospital for Inpatient and Outpatient Basis.
  • Requires 24 hr. On Call
  • Cross training opportunities with Dialysis
  • Work closely with Nephrology
  • Additional $5hr on top of base rate
