SSOE is looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team of experts in delivering cutting-edge solutions to our clients. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of advanced industrial, semiconductor, biotech, healthcare, and pharmaceutical facilities for the world’s leading high-tech companies.You will work closely with our clients, engineering teams, and other professionals to ensure that projects meet and exceed industry standards. This position will be a hybrid position, requiring occasional onsite work. Fully remote or travel work arrangements for this role are not available.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for producing technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models that meet our specifications and client needs.
- Responsible for creating, influencing, and finalizing designs involving industrial and domestic piping, plumbing, chillers, boilers, HVAC ducting, exhaust, motor control, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, Fire Protection systems and possibly other mechanical building systems.
- Applies standard design techniques and procedures and exercising judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications to design concepts. Ensure quality control by complying with company and team design and CAD standards.
- Will work with Sr. Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
- Experience mentoring less experienced engineering staff with an emphasis on employee growth, project success, and overall performance.
- Coordinate needs, designs, and develops an understanding with other design disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.) for design package needs.
- Perform field verifications / site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. May troubleshoot design problems in the field during construction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of practice or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of employment is required.
- Experience working with AutoCAD (or similar CAD system) and Revit is required. Experience with Navisworks, PIPE-FLO or similar hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge or experience with designs containing HVAC, chillers, boilers, pump hydraulics, exhaust, process chemicals, wastewater discharge, or other similar mechanical building systems.
- Experience performing field verifications and site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. Ability to troubleshoot design problems in the field.
- The ability to interface with customers to define scope of work and basis of design.
- Compensation Range: $120,000 - $175,000+/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
