Overview:

The VP of Business Applications will play a key role in driving the success of HireRight by ensuring the company's business applications are aligned with its goals and objectives and are implemented and maintained effectively. Strong experience in specific business applications, as well as understanding of business terms and processes in sales, operations and finance, will be crucial for the successful candidate to effectively lead the team and deliver on the company's goals.

The VP of Business Applications will be responsible for leading the implementation and development of business applications for HireRight. This includes managing and overseeing the selection, implementation, and maintenance of software systems that support the company's operations and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the enterprise-wide, strategic direction of HireRight’s business systems and technology. This includes the analysis, design, development and deployment (coding/testing) of technologies as well as defining and implementing infrastructure solutions that directly address business requirements.
  • Lead the deployment, operation and support of selected technologies throughout the business.
  • Manage the technical strategy, planning, design and delivery across business functions of business applications including Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Human Resources, and Legal.
  • Lead and coordinate the Business Systems ‘Steering Committee’ with senior business stakeholders
  • Skillfully manage human resource activities including personnel planning, hiring and on-boarding, performance management, and training and career development for direct reports and their teams.
  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with other business and technology departments to ensure appropriate levels of inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Recommend, develop and implement technologies and processes specifically designed to enhance operational excellence.
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise across a wide range of IT business application solutions including for example Salesforce.com and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Continue the HireRight evolution in leveraging leading business applications development practices and principles.
  • Identify trends and root causes of problems and implement the necessary remediation and process improvement plans.
  • Establish key performance indicators and service level agreements for continually improving the performance of the team.
  • Develop and foster a culture of customer service, quality and continuous process improvements.
  • Ensure that the solutions are cost effective and suitable to meet the growth and changing needs of our business.
  • Manage external vendor partnerships as required to support key technologies and service delivery.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between applications and infrastructure and the criticality of a strong connection between the respective support teams to ensure continuity and quality of service.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in information systems, business or engineering.
Skills:
The successful candidate will have a broad technology background across a varied range of business applications. The ideal candidate will be someone who acts as a catalyst in driving organizational change, reducing functional silos within IT and implementing standard, repeatable and measurable processes.

The candidate will also possess a persuasive, professional communication style, capable of communicating complex, technical topics to a wide variety of audiences.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of IT experience with significant depth in business application development and delivery.
  • Extensive experience managing large, global CRM (Salesforce) projects
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of standardized processes, particularly in the areas of software application delivery.
  • Proven ability in developing and implementing performance metrics in the areas of software application development, testing and delivery.
  • Strong financial management skills in budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
  • Experience participating in technological ‘due diligence’ for M&A activity
