Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will have experience with portable x-ray procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations, ensuring accurate patient positioning and proper technical factors.
• Operate radiology equipment while minimizing radiation exposure to unaffected body parts.
• Conduct portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Ensure proper film identification and accurate marking to reflect body sides during imaging.
• Process and develop x-ray films according to established methods.
• Maintain a clean and sterile x-ray room, ensuring equipment is prepared and ready for use.
• Assist in administering radiopaque contrast media and support physicians during procedures.
• Handle administrative tasks related to scheduling, patient instructions, and film filing.
• Provide care tailored to the needs of diverse patient populations.
• Adhere to hospital standards and organizational competencies.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Licensing: New Jersey State Radiology License and must meet National Registry requirements.
• Certifications:
• ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – AHA.
• Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Skills: Strong communication skills and ability to work with patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team.
• Preferred: Experience with portable x-ray procedures in various settings (e.g., operating rooms, ER).
