Overview:

The Director HRBP leads a team of Human Resources Business Partners ensuring strong HR business partnership capabilities within the AFNA organization intended to support the business in developing aligned HR action plans and deliverables through development and implementation of human resources strategies, processes, systems, and initiatives needed to develop strong HR Business Partnering capabilities.

This position also serves as the HRBP to the Supply Chain leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all HRBP roles providing expertise and guidance to develop an effective group of strategic HRBPs at all levels.
  • Partner with other AFNA Center of Excellence and HR Service Center leaders to develop, execute and enhance HR strategies that align with company goals and drive continuous improvement across the business using the current HR model and related people strategies.
  • Actively lead and support HR change management efforts.
  • Champion employee engagement and proactively address needs by implementing strategies that enhance employee satisfaction, motivation, and retention.
  • Ensure HRBPs provide proactive guidance and coaching to leaders and employees within their assigned areas of responsibilities to enhance interpersonal skills, strengthen team dynamics, and adapt leadership styles to support a collaborative and inclusive workplace.
  • Foster a culture of respect, accountability, and high performance by proactively identifying and addressing team needs, ensuring alignment with the company’s values and a positive work environment.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the HRBP functions, including staffing, budgeting, and policy administration.
  • Ensure the HRBPs implement and support HR core annual programs such as performance management, goal setting, compensation planning, talent reviews, succession planning and wellness initiatives, to name a few.
  • Ensure HRBP understand, adherence to, and teach leaders and employees within their assigned areas, labor laws and internal policies, minimizing legal risks and fostering a compliant workplace.
  • Develop appropriate HRBP related metrics to support and demonstrate HRBP accountability within their assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Work with other HR leaders to actively track, assess, and leverage HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, engagement scores) to provide insights and make data driven recommendations for process improvements.
  • Utilize survey data, turnover reports, and other key metrics to identify trends and address factors impacting employee morale and retention.
  • Stay current on Federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Subject to the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and Ajinomoto Food’s HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures, assisting the Ajinomoto Food health plan with day-to-day activities involving protected health information, including but not limited to, assisting with employee claims, coordinating benefits, determining health claim status, determining eligibility for coverage, budgeting and renewal, billing and collection activities, obtaining assistance from third-parties for plan functions, and any other duties delegated by the HIPAA Privacy or Security Officer.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field and 10+years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within manufacturing or supply chain settings OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced degree in HR, Business or a related field and certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR, preferred.
  • Proven track record of working in a multi-site HRBP model company that has delivered successful talent and culture initiatives through the HRBP model.
  • Influential Leadership: Skilled in coaching, conflict resolution, and influencing leaders across all levels.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Demonstrates a commitment to fostering a culture of teamwork and shared success within the current HR model.
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Travel to plants from time to time, corporate meetings and other related meetings may be required.
  • Pay Range: $170,000 to $180,000
