Responsibilities:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will provide essential support to the Project Manager (PM) in managing the daily operations of in-house teams and subcontractors on the facility operations and maintenance contract at a large government facility in Washington, DC.This includes supervising technical staff such as the Engineers, Electricians, Maintenance Mechanics, Painters,etc. The APM will assist with both technical and administrative tasks and aid in the coordination of subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
In the absence of the PM, the APM will act as the Alternate PM to maintain continuous operations and meet the needs of the facility. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in building operations and possess a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.Salary range dependent on qualifications and experience $100,000.00 - $120,000.00.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the PM in overseeing daily activities of in-house teams and subcontractor operations.
- Supervise and manage technical staff to ensure efficient project execution and maintenance of building systems.
- Assist in managing subcontractor relationships, ensuring they meet contractual obligations and performance standards.
- Provide support in both technical and administrative matters, helping to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Step in to assist the Alternate PM during the PM's absence, ensuring continued support for operations.
- Assist in monitoring the progress of projects, making adjustments as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with the PM to manage resources and address project
Qualifications:
What we are looking for:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing building operations.
- A bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering and/or MBA
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems and equipment.
- Proven ability to supervise technical teams and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Familiarity with project management processes and the ability to assist in both administrative and technical functions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Skills & Abilities:
- Leadership experience in managing and guiding technical teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with subcontractors and other team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Capacity to take initiative and provide seamless support in the absence of the PM.
The APM will work onsite during regular business hours, with availability to assist with emergencies or urgent matters as needed.
