Position: Contracts Attorney
Overview: A reputable organization is seeking a Contracts Attorney to support their legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in contract law, federal grantmaking, and nonprofit organizations.
Location: Washington DC, Hybrid (two days in-office)Compensation: Up to $140,000, with full benefits
Responsibilities:
- Review and advise on contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and minimizing risk.
- Draft and negotiate new contracts and revise existing agreements, including memoranda of understanding, master service agreements, and grant agreements.
- Provide research, counsel, and drafting support to the Procurement Division.
- Assist in the development and implementation of organizational policies based on best practices.
- Support training programs to enhance staff awareness of legal principles.
- Liaise between the Office of General Counsel and various divisions, emphasizing excellent customer service.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; must be a member in good standing of a state bar, and eligible to join the Washington, DC bar within one year.
- 5-7 years as a practicing attorney with a focus on commercial contracts (experience in labor and employment law is a plus)
- Experience with nonprofits is a plus!
