Sr. Packaging Engineer
Growing manufacturer is seeking a direct-hire Sr. Packaging Engineer. This position is located near Vernon Hills, Illinois. The Sr. Packaging Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing innovative packaging solutions that meet the highest standards for food safety, product quality, and sustainability.
The salary is commensurate with experience ranging up to $130K, plus bonus potential, and other great benefits! All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

responsibilities:
- Design and develop packaging solutions that ensure product integrity, quality, and shelf life for food products
- Evaluate and select sustainable packaging materials that comply with food safety regulations, while optimizing for cost, durability, and performance
- Drive initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving recyclability, and promoting the use of sustainable materials in line with company sustainability goals
- Conduct packaging tests, including shelf-life testing, material durability, and compatibility with production processes and equipment
