Responsibilities:

  • Possess experience to lead the wastewater process design or a project.
  • Design and implement wastewater treatment systems, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine optimal solutions for wastewater treatment projects.
  • Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including environmental scientists, civil engineers, and project managers.
  • Utilize modeling software to simulate and optimize wastewater treatment processes.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies for wastewater treatment based on project requirements.
  • Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of wastewater treatment projects.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting wastewater treatment design.
  • Conduct periodic site visits and inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory authorities, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and mentor staff of design engineers as part of a Design Team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to properly scope capital projects from concept through construction.
  • Forecast project timelines, prepare schedule for staff and meet deadlines for multiple projects at a time.
  • Possess the ability to find solutions to design issues regarding site constraints, applicable regulations, budgets, and timing.
  • Oversee the preparation of construction specifications, public bid documents and construction cost estimates for municipal and public sector clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering, or civil engineering.
  • PE License in Pennsylvania is required.
  • PE License in New Jersey and New York preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in the civil/environmental engineering field with concentration in wastewater treatment process design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred or sufficient knowledge of software to effectively manage others.
  • Experience managing and supervising the work efforts of assigned staff regarding scope, schedule, quality, and budget of projects.
  • Ability to track and oversee multiple projects at a time.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
