Ceph Consultant (Senior Storage Engineer) - CEC25-20363

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to assist with the implementation and operation of an on-premise Ceph storage cluster. The ideal candidate will configure Ceph services, monitor performance, and support the expansion of the cluster to accommodate additional use cases.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure CephFS to support high-performance computing (HPC).
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in the Ceph file system, clients, and infrastructure.
• Integrate Ceph storage with existing backup solutions.
• Assist with the integration of CephFS with HPC compute machines running Linux.
• Develop documentation for internal administrators and end-users.
• Analyze research use cases and optimize system performance based on user needs.

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience with Ceph and CephFS.
• Strong Linux system administration and performance monitoring skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of networking concepts (OSI model, DNS, firewalls, proxies, load balancing).
• Familiarity with BGP, VXLAN, Cisco/ARISTA/SONiC platforms is a plus.
• Experience with C, C++, Golang, or Rust is desirable.
• Experience with Kubernetes and CSI plugins is a plus.
• Familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana monitoring stack is beneficial.
