Certified Medical Asst - Administration Staff

Responsibilities:

Certified Medical Assistant
  • Daily interaction with patients/families, team members and providers.
  • Knowledge/experience with Electronic Patient Management and Electronic Health Records.
  • Assist Providers with health visits according to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ guidelines.
  • Administers immunizations in accordance with National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, Philadelphia Department of Health and Center for Disease Control guidelines.
  • Reports out of normal range vital signs, hearing/vision screenings, growth/development and objective or subjective patient data immediately to the provider.
  • Obtain, describe and document patient’s history and condition in clear and concise terms using proper spelling, grammar and medical terms.
  • Completion of Provider orders (e.g. immunizations, lab requests, respiratory treatments etc.) with accuracy.
  • Proficient in preparation of Quest, LabCorp, KIDS Registry and/or facility laboratory request forms/systems.
  • Inputs all correct patient demographic information, test requested, diagnostic codes and test codes.
  • Performs respiratory treatments as ordered and under the direction of the provider.
  • Performs daily/weekly and monthly assignments as per departmental policy/procedure.
  • Acts as a liaison in emergency situations.
  • Specific proficiencies in other systems as determined by department.
  • During downtime, assist other Practice Plan departments as assigned by Administrative Coordinator, Practice Manager, Director of Operations and/or Section Chief.

SCHEDULE: 8 hours per week to be worked Mon - Fri between 8a - 5:30p, 8 hours can be worked within one day or 4 hours over 2 days. Main location is Hospital Campus and may rotate to Satellite Offices (Northeast Peds, Yardley, Bucks Cty, Abington and Washington Township).

Education Requirements
  • Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
  • High School Diploma
  • OR - GED - OR
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program
Experience
  • No experience
Certification and Licensure
  • BLS Certification
  • Registered Medical Assistant - OR - Current Medical Assistant Certification awarded through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Medical Assistant Certification program other than those listed above will require THMG Leadership Approval Awarded through American Allied Health (AAH)
