Emergency Management Project Manager, Recovery

Position Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for assisting the company and clients with special projects within their scope as a subject matter expert. The project manager will provide advanced support, advice and analytical services to private businesses and government agencies with project management as they navigate how to deal with any emergency management functions needed.Each Project Manager will have a specific work portfolio based on skills sets and needs. The position will be guided in all activities by ACDC’s Corporate Values Platform.

Compensation: $45-$50/hour
Travel/Location: Nashville, TN (on-site required) with travel required. No travel expenses paid for applicants outside of the on-site location.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions.- Support and assist in leading all corporate and program operations on all division projects in addition to general emergency management services as needed.
- Perform routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard analysis and planning techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Determine, define, and write project scope and objectives.
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
- Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
- Track project costs in order to meet budget.
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Assist in the development and manage contracts with sub-consultants, vendors, and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
- Manage project staff ensuring client satisfaction and deliverables are achieved.
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare analysis details and outlines, technical specifications, studies and reports, project documents, and provide support of broader security and safety activities.
- Lead client communications and meetings pertaining to specific assignments or projects.
- Interact closely with subject matter experts in research of technical information and input.
- Manage critical portions of projects and ensure all aspects of a project are completed as outlined in the contract scope of work and timeline.
- Conduct meetings and briefings with clients, prepare and facilitate budgets, proposals, client presentations, develop materials and reporting as needed.
- Maintain currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies, procedures, and guidance documents for applicable roles.
- Identify potential impacts/implications of policy changes to Federal/State/local programs and provide briefings as required
- Perform quality control review procedures over work performed by other consultants and over client-provided documents as requested.
- During a disaster, you may be called into the field to support or co-lead relief efforts or assist with organizing responses to

Experience and Education Required:
- 2+ years of relevant experience managing small and large-scale projects, business analysis, operations, etc.
- 5+ years FEMA Public Assistance Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, business administration, project management or a related field. Equivalency: Professional experience beyond minimum requirements, in a related field may substitute the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- At least 1-year direct leadership experience or experience leading complex portions of projects teams/tasks, program management or full scope programs.
- Knowledge of full scope Emergency Management protocols and familiarity with state and local plans, agencies, and funding sources is necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
- 3+ years of project management, leadership and management oversight including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and meeting contract requirements for PA Recovery projects.
- 5-7+ years’ advanced or subject matter expert-level knowledge/experience in various emergency management functions
Applicable Certifications:
- PMP
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Project Manager of Emergency Management may have supervisory responsibilities within projects.
Expected Hours of Work
Schedule may vary and require work on evenings and weekends and dependability and punctuality are paramount. Employees are generally expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and could work up to 20 hours of overtime each week.
Travel Requirements- Up to 50% travel is expected for this position.
- Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for prolonged periods of time.
- Mobility required on-site with clients.
- Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
- Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
- Emergency management consultants may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
- All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.
- If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
- Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
