Food distribution company seeking an HR Generalist/Payroll Administrator to join their team in Perris, CA. You will be responsible for payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and other HR duties as assigned.
This is a direct hire opportunity working M-F 8am-5pm with weekends off. This role is 100% onsite in Perris. If you have around 5 years of experience in HR and payroll administration and are looking for a place that you can jump in and be long term with then this is a good opportunity for you.

Responsibilities
  • Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data to include garnishments, vacation time, sick time, insurance and 401(k) deductions
  • Utilizes automated system (Paychex) to produce accurate and timely payroll
  • Reviews electronic time clock for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepares weekly payroll in a timely manner
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Collaborates with managers to assess employment needs, and participates in recruiting efforts to identify, interview, hire and train qualified candidates
  • Coordinate background checks and drug testing for new hire employee eligibility verifications
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Oversees auditing processes in multiple departments to ensure policies and procedures are being followed
  • Conducts various employee training programs related to onboarding, professional development, or site-specific requested training
  • Prepares and sets up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits
  • Reviews and responds to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.
  • Compiles data and prepares yearly submission of OSHA and worker’s compensation reports for insurance purposes.
