We seek a motivated Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team at Calspan's Genesee Street Headquarters. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and products through the facility. This position is responsible for verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining detailed records, and preparing materials for safe and timely delivery.The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of adapting to a dynamic environment with a strong focus on accuracy and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities Listed Below – Compensation and position level commensurate with education and experience.- Load and/or unload containers from carriers. Check materials and/or articles of all outgoing shipments against shipping orders for accuracy. Document and report any shortages, damaged or defective material shipped or received.
- Properly build and pack boxes, crates, or cartons for outgoing shipments.
- Assists in determining the method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates, and preparing accurate shipping documents.
- Deliver packages to business units
Qualifications:
Preferred Skills / Ability:
- Use a computer as needed for email internet information and use Microsoft Office documents to create entries and maintain an electronic log of incoming and outgoing packages
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures, freight documentation, and transportation methods.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in handling and completing shipping documentation accurately.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety protocols.
- Physical demands include lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs

The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and other applicable qualifications. Calspan is committed to pay transparency in compliance with applicable state and local laws.

Salary Range (min): USD $18.00/Hr.
Salary Range (max): USD $25.00/Hr.
