Position Summary:

The Partnerships and Career Services Coordinator is a proactive and strategic professional dedicated to enhancing employment opportunities for SFBU students and graduates. Reporting to the Senior Director of Career & Life Planning, the coordinator will develop and implement strategies to increase job and internship opportunities, maintain strong relationships with employers on various levels, and collaborate with faculty, staff, and university departments.

Key responsibilities include creating marketing strategies for corporate and community engagement, managing employment data, and participating in career development programs.

**Note:** This is an exempt, full-time position based in Fremont, California. Candidates must reside locally or be willing to relocate.

Primary Responsibilities:

Employer Relations and Partnerships (35%)
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase employment opportunities for students and graduates.
  • Identify and build relationships with regional, state, national, and international employers for student and alumni recruitment.
  • Facilitate connections between employers and the university community, including students, faculty, staff, alumni associations, and foundations.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director to develop internship opportunities.
  • Work with student employment staff to create part-time job opportunities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the employer advisory board.
Marketing and Communications (20%)
  • Collaborate with employers to create marketing strategies to enhance their presence on campus, including campus recruitment, job postings, internships, career fairs, presentations, and resume searches.
  • Design and develop employer marketing materials, compose content, and coordinate communication schedules with employers.
Data Management and Reporting (15%)
  • Compile and report data on employer relations activities.
  • Assess employer engagement efforts and provide feedback on their effectiveness.
  • Track job market demand, career services usage, recruitment trends, job offers, and hiring outcomes for students across academic majors.
  • Report findings to university administrators.
  • Develop strategies to increase participation rates among students who underutilize career resources.
Collaboration and Program Development (15%)
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to expand employment opportunities for students.
  • Participate in career development programs coordinated by career services, including workshops, employer seminars, meetings, and special projects.
Professional and Administrative Responsibilities (15%)
  • Actively engage in local, state, regional, and national organizations such as chambers of commerce, SHRM, NACE, and alumni chapters.
  • Assist with budget planning, strategic planning, goal setting, and reporting.
  • Attend administrative staff meetings.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Represent career services on campus and within the community.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of work experience in a corporate/industry or university career services environment.
  • Professional demeanor with exceptional organizational, written, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and multitask effectively.
  • Strong time management skills with a motivated, enthusiastic work style.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work nontraditional hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience in marketing, negotiation, and strategic planning.
  • Familiarity with computers, databases, and web design/editing.
  • Experience with platforms such as Handshake and Simplicity.

Salary Range:

  • $67,000- $77,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
