A successful Mental Health Therapist enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds and doesn’t shy away from honest and caring — yet sometimes difficult — conversations. Responsibilities:
What You'll Do At Gaudenzia- To evaluate, treat, and diagnose clients who have a mental health disorder or dually-diagnosed
- Schedule or assist with the scheduling of clinical and/or support staff to ensure adequate coverage during all shifts.
- Continue special training in areas designated by the Supervisor.
- Keep records such as bio-psycho-history & assessments, evaluations and keep client case records current according to the established guidelines.
- Attend, participate, and when necessary, facilitate special events, such as retreats, trips, workshops, etc.
- Be a role model for pro-social behaviors.
- Be available for weekend and/or evening duty.
- Be responsible for a full client caseload and act as a lead counselor.
- Attend all staff meetings and attend functions and/or meetings when the Supervisor is not available.
- Support and demonstrate adherence to Gaudenzia’s Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct and all personnel policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for re-entry residents or others needing advanced care.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and appropriate professional certificates and credentials.
- Be responsible for orientation of new staff members when the Supervisor is not available.
- Moderate special groups such as marathons, extended groups, family meetings, workshops or presentations.
- All other duties as described in the Unit Unique Job Description or as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications for This Role:
Maryland Education/ Licensure Requirements:
- - Must possess a Master’s Degree and independent license to practice such as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LGADC, LGPC, LCADC, and/ or LCPC with at least 5 years' experience working in an outpatient or acute care Behavioural Health treatment setting. Demonstrated knowledge of working with Criminal Justice involved and/or homeless populations. Bilingual candidates strongly preferred.
