Purpose of Role
The HR Operations Specialist plays a key role in supporting the EMEA HR department and regional teammates in the Netherlands and Belgium by acting as the first point of contact for HR-related queries and performing administrative functions throughout the employment lifecycle.This role is critical to ensuring a smooth and positive teammate experience, with a strong focus on country ownership and serving as a Subject Matter Expert for defined processes and projects. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence and supporting our mission to enhance teammate satisfaction, productivity, and engagement across the region.
This role reports directly to the Senior Manager, HR Operations EMEA.
Your Impact
Act as the primary contact for teammates' HR-related questions and requests, guiding escalation, redirection, or resolution in line with UA standards to create a positive teammate experience.Manage end-to-end administrative functions throughout the employment lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, benefits, payroll, and leave administration.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of benefit enrollments, allowances, country-specific requirements, and leave types, issuing relevant documentation accordingly.
Communicate HR changes clearly to teammates and vendors to ensure smooth transitions and compliance.
Provide high-quality support by responding promptly to queries through the AskHR ticketing program, resolving issues with a "first-time-right" mindset.
Prepare and input teammate changes into payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Oversee the correct processing of personnel data within our global HRIS and collaborate with vendors as necessary.
Lead the creation, implementation, and improvement of HR policies, country handbooks, and procedures, ensuring they align with local regulations and best practices.
Maintain personnel files, conduct regular audits, and ensure GDPR compliance.
Participate in or lead projects aimed at improving, automating, and streamlining HR processes and documentation.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, operational excellence, and automation to elevate the efficiency and quality of HR services.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of relevant work experience in an HR function in the Netherlands.
Experience in Retail and knowledge of Belgium HR practices are a plus.
Bachelors degree preferred.
Fluency in business English and Dutch is required.
Customer-service oriented, responding promptly to teammate needs and soliciting feedback to improve service.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage daily tasks and long-term projects efficiently through effective prioritization and time management.
Keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
High level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, able to freely share ideas and listen actively to ensure mutual understanding.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Positive mindset when challenging existing processes, consistently looking for opportunities to improve data quality and operational processes.
Proactive in identifying and elevating issues, with a solution-focused approach and strong follow-up execution.Workplace Location
