Overview:

The Senior Director, Health Equity and Transformation will work to lead Health Equity and Transformation efforts and ensure Health Equity and future focused strategic initiatives, and programming are in the forefront of ACOG’s organizational strategy, including working across divisions to ensure equity and inclusion are part of every team at ACOG.

The Senior Director will work collaboratively to ensure that all aspects of ACOG’s work is addressing equity including programs, initiatives, educational materials, documents and content for members and consumers. The Senior Director will work with district and section leadership as well as the Board of Directors to continually improve equity and transformational programming at all levels within ACOG.

Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position has one direct report and serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department/organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversee development and implementation of health equity and transformational initiatives across the organization.
  • Develop the implementation plan for the Diversity Equity and Inclusive Excellence Workgroup recommendations adopted by the Board of Directors and lead the implementation of that plan.
  • Researches, develops, recommends, and executes creative strategies to across all membership categories and activities.
  • Responsible for leading and developing ACOG’s initiatives related to the Collective Action Against Racism, including collaborating with and managing relationship with external consultants, managing internal ACOG team on programmatic and content work, and strategically coordinating and fostering relationships with external stakeholders to advance a collaborative approach to the Collective Action Against Racism.
  • Participates in meetings as requested, offering guidance, feedback, and document review,
and serve as a conduit between member work groups/committees to advance health equity efforts from concept to implementation.
  • Works with government affairs and legal teams to ensure issues related to health equity are represented in advocacy efforts and policies.
  • Represents the organization externally, including as a spokesperson in matters related to health equity.
  • Serve as an advisor to promote an equitable and inclusive environment.
  • Contribute to and review documents, statements, policies, practice advisories, guidance, patient education and other ACOG related materials to ensure ACOG’s commitment to health equity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Budget and grant management experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening).
  • Collaborator who can develop relationships and build trust and credibility with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Evidence of a collaborative engaging leadership approach.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • Master’s degree required in public policy, public health or related field. PhD, or other terminal degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience advancing/leading programs focused on advancing health equity
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience

Compensation

The base salary for this position is $160,000 - $181,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, ACOG offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes the perks outlined below.
