Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have an outstanding level of desire to lead people with a strong leadership track record of creating/leading/transforming teams. He/she will carry a growth mindset, reflected through maximization of the opportunity to reach more patients and an immense sense of urgency for strategy and execution.
- Lead the cross functional team providing Medical support to the Cardiovascular Mavacamten program, represent global medical affairs in cross functional leadership forums.
- Develop and execute the global medical plan, provide medical insight into strategic plans, and provide strategic direction in scientific communication to ensure delivery of key knowledge to the internal stakeholders including local medical market colleagues; ensure global alignment and input for the medical plan.
- Drive an integrated strategy and communication platform, ensuring optimized and aligned thought leader interactions and seamless coordinated communications both internally and externally.
- Provides expert opinion on the current trends in the pathophysiology, diagnosis, existing and emerging treatment options as well as unmet medical needs in Cardiomyopathy to inform key medical and business decisions.
- Create a scientific and medical communication strategy including engagement of TLs, professional societies, and congresses.
- Provide ongoing expertise to execute on congress strategy, field medical plans, home office training, execution of TL plan and other medical strategies.
- Develop and execute the Worldwide launch plan for applicable markets.
- Lead workstreams to identify evidence gaps to address unmet needs and to define and support global execution of these opportunities.
- Establishes and maintains ongoing long-term collaborative peer-to-peer relationships with key thought leaders and manages Global Key Opinion Leader activities, including Advisory Boards; aligns with markets and regions to ensure transparency regarding KOL activities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key professional societies, and organizations in collaboration with other global medical affairs functions and clinical colleagues through scientific dialogue.
- Develop and execute the medical data generation plan, Phase 4 and ISR planning, delivery of publication plan and establishing BMS as a leader in the therapeutic space.
- Responsible for requesting and managing medical budget to ensure execution to defined targets.
- Establish linkages across all major functions (e.g., Development, R&D, HEOR, Value Access & Pricing, Regulatory, Commercial, Corporate Affairs, etc.) and building alignment with cross-functional partners on key initiatives such as developing an optimal approach to data generation, communication and supporting access.
- Partner with Development, Research and Development, and Commercial to manage the Non-Registrational Data Generation (NRDG) budget including investigator sponsored studies.
- Provide medical support to the WW medical affairs organization, including developing and delivering training curriculum and content for market field medical associates.
- Adapt to a changing environment through contingency planning and appropriate resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with medical, regulatory, legal, and ethical standards. Qualifications & Experience
- M.D., D.O., PhD, PharmD or equivalent degree, with minimum 10+ years' experience in the pharma/biopharma industry with demonstrated medical affairs experience in EU / WW Markets
- Prior industry experience in Cardiovascular Medical affairs/Medical Strategy, Product launch and Clinical Research or related experience preferred.
- The successful candidate must be highly professional with excellent relationship-building and communication skills, including the ability to articulate both verbally and in writing complex scientific principles.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams including clinical, commercialization, regulatory and early discovery.
- He/she must have experience working in multi-functional project team and managing external agencies. Additionally, have the skills to plan and implement medical congresses and advisory boards.

- Proven ability to generate, analyze and interpret clinical trial and published data.
