Warehouse Operations Assistant Managers must have passion for their work and provide strong teamwork and leadership skills. The Manager must be highly effective in demonstrating and enforcing effective coaching, implement safety and environmental practices.

The Manager must understand warehouse, store and divisional objectives and resolve problems related to warehouse operations. Incumbents must be capable of meeting or exceeding company established revenue, profit and expense controls. This position is responsible and will be held accountable for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops, coaches and trains all direct reports in Warehouse Operations Department.
  2. Creates an atmosphere of ongoing exceptional customer service to internals (associates, peers, other departments) and external customers (donors, shoppers, community partners).
  3. Assists in maintaining budgeted warehouse staffing levels. Participates in the screening, hiring and training of warehouse staff including general associates, forklift operators, dispatchers, and production staff.
  4. Monitors and ensures a smooth process for all warehouse functions, while adhering to and enforcing security, audit and control procedures.
  5. Accurately monitors and records the work of the (warehouse) department and submits appropriate paperwork on a timely basis.
  6. Responsible for maintaining a safe warehouse environment for all associates regardless of his/her job description or reporting relationship. Monitors safety and security procedures and ensures safety procedures are enforced on an ongoing basis.
  7. Complies with and enforces company policies, standards and values.
  8. Participates in special projects and attends meetings as directed by the Warehouse Operations Manager
  9. Assists in managing all warehouse reports and routinely completes assigned reports and manages documents in an efficient manner.
  10. Ensure all donated/received goods get to the optimum retail environment for resale in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
  11. Communicate with 3rd party contractors (Salvage vendors)
  12. Fulfills the duties of production staff members (only if needed).
  13. Any other duty as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Monitors the time and attendance system and submits information on a timely basis.
  2. Develops efficient and effective methods and procedures for work simplification and material processing.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has supervisory responsibility for associates and requires daily interaction with the Production Team Leads, Drivers and Warehouse Associates.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent plus three to five years of previous management experience in warehouse, retail or similar service oriented business or environment (e.g. military experience).
  2. Proven track record of successful leadership and good judgement, preferably in similar environment.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate clearly and in English, both verbally and in writing.
  4. Basic math and computer skills with ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets, understand computerized time and attendance systems, understand POS systems etc.).
  5. Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including working on weekends if necessary.
  6. Proven ability to inspire, coach, train, and develop warehouse team members to consistently provide exceptional customer service and drive for results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  2. Previous experience working in a warehouse facility handling more than 25 employees is a plus.
