Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

Job Description:

A Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy trucks, earth moving, and related construction equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of heavy equipment
• Work safely and independently to diagnosis repair and adjust transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical and hydraulic components associated with heavy construction equipment in a field environment.
• Repair or rebuild all or part of equipment systems.
• Perform welding operations on equipment
• Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents to the supervisor
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and decrease turnaround time
• Responsible for writing and completing service reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

• High School or Equivalent

Required Experience:

• Two year Experience minimum in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, small engine repair, or similar preferred
• Welding skills a plus
• Crane knowledge a plus

Required License:

• Valid Driver’s License

This is a full time position. You must be able to work a variety of shifts, including day, nights, evenings and weekends.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens.
