Aspire Medical Staffing is actively seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to provide exceptional blood collection services. If you are committed to delivering top-notch patient care while adhering to professional standards, we would love to have you on our team!
You will perform onsite phlebotomy and specimen processing to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the range of Laboratory Services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of the quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards, as established by Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines.

VA Business Hours: May be required to provide services during the following times:
Dayshift- 6:00A-2:30P
- 6:30A-3:00P
- 7:00A-3:30P
- 7:30A-4:00P
- 8:00A-4:30P
- 8:30A-5:00P
- 9:00A-5:30P
- 9:30A-6:00P
- The employee may also be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime. However, on call or standby duties will NOT be required.
Requirements
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 year of experience in phlebotomy.
CERTIFICATION:
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from an organization recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).
CITIZENSHIP:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Performance Standards:
- Measure: Safety
Standard: Contracted personnel shall positively identify patients prior to sample collection and samples prior to testing or aliquoting.
Acceptable Quality Level: Less than 3 errors in an annual rating period. Surveillance Method: Direct Observation, document/sample review Frequency: Ongoing- Measure: Safety
Performance Requirement: Insurance of Information Security Standard: Safeguards electronic and paper patient information.
Acceptable Quality Level: Less than 2 accidental, unintentional breaches; only one curious, careless breach.
Surveillance Method: Direct Observation Frequency: Ongoing- Measure: Quality Assurance
Standard: Identifies, documents, and resolves any collection, processing, testing, or reporting issues.
Acceptable Quality Level: Less than 3 errors resulting in adverse patient events or near misses. Surveillance Method: Direct observation; sample review; event form reviews. Frequency: Ongoing- Measure: Customer Service
Performance Requirement: Patient Centered Customer Care
Standard: The employee will perform patient phlebotomy to include inpatient ward rounds, inpatient and outpatient, Emergency Department (ED), STAT, as soon as possible (ASAP), and timed draws.
Acceptable Quality Level: Less than 5 missed orders/specimens in an annual rating period. Surveillance Method: Periodic Review and feedback from all customers and stakeholders. Frequency: Ongoing- Measure: Customer Service
Performance Requirement: Patient Centered Customer Care
Standard: Assures patient-centered care and provides service in a manner that is professional and will avoid complaints from all stakeholders and customers.
Acceptable Quality Level: Less than 3 complaints in an annual rating period.
Surveillance Method: Periodic Review and feedback from all customers and stakeholders. Frequency: Ongoing
