Your role and responsibilities
This position provides strategic direction, leadership, management and coordination of the Engineering team responsible for maintaining and improving the engineering systems with new product offerings based on R&D designs and customer needs for electrical equipment.You will work with Engineering Leadership, Product Managers, R&D, and Manufacturing, within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts, & resolve issues. Drives the team's performance to ensure assigned engineering operations are executed in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, cyber security policies and standards, and cost/profitability and scheduling targets.
The main Responsibilities include:- Define and implement the Engineering Tools Road Map, focused on common tools/processes that directly drive improvement in engineering quality and cycle time.
- Lead team to plan, organize, and execute multiple small and large projects simultaneously while meeting target delivery dates.
- Lead team to develop user requirements, specifications, and structure to implement new NPI offerings for various engineering applications, including, but not limited to Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and/or SAP.
- Interact with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, IT, and SAP team members to identify potential project risks and provide timely and technical tool/process solutions. Evaluate costs vs benefits to justify engineering tool/process improvement projects.
- Enhance mechanical configurator code and tables for various product lines. Enhance electrical CAD tools and drawing automation for various product lines.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and drive tool/process standardization across multiple products and plants.
- Guides, motivates, coaches, and develops direct and indirect subordinates in line with the HR policies. Provides direction to the Engineering team with a focus on functional safety, cybersecurity, on-time delivery, quality, and margin improvement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience with LV/MV SWGR, MCC, and/or LIS and 10 years’ experience with Empower/Rulestream or Eplan. Working knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Visual Basic (VBA and VB.NET), C#, and other software applications.
- Understanding of mechanical design and assembly. Self-starter with the ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
- Ability to welcome change and work in fast paced environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Project management skills with ability to plan, execute & document programs/projects.
