Customer Service Representative

Robert Half is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Customer Service Representative to join a reputable and local company within the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare providers, delivering exceptional support and ensuring a seamless experience across all interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to incoming inquiries via phone, email, or chat from patients, families, and healthcare providers, addressing questions and resolving concerns promptly.
- Assist customers with scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, billing inquiries, and navigating healthcare services.
- Provide detailed and clear information about insurance coverage, treatment plans, and healthcare policies, ensuring patients understand available resources and options.
- Accurately document customer interactions, update records, and input new information into the healthcare system database in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and abide by HIPAA regulations in handling sensitive patient information.
- Proactively identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer concerns effectively.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department or supervisor when necessary.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals, administrative staff, and insurance companies to streamline processes and ensure coordinated care for patients.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in a customer service role, preferably in the healthcare, insurance, or medical industry, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or customer relationship management (CRM) systems is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Empathy and patience when assisting customers in often-stressful healthcare situations.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other office tools.
- Basic knowledge of healthcare administration, insurance processes, and claims resolution is preferred.
