Accounts Payable Specialist

Robert Half has partnered with one of the top growing companies in the Springfield market their search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their AP Department, reporting to the AP Supervisor. This is a great opportunity for someone entry level that is looking for a foot in the door within an accounting department that may have some knowledge of invoice processing.

Entry level candidates will be considered with some accounting knowledge base, specifically AP.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Data Entry of invoices
  • Assist with full-cycle A/P
  • Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
  • Monthly reconciliations
  • Assist manager with AP reporting
  • Perform daily processes and controls, ensuring company policies are followed
  • Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department

This is a full time, permanent position with the opportunity to work hybrid from home 2 days a week once up and running. Strong benefits package, year end bonus, yearly raises, and amazing culture!

Accounts Payable Specialist

  • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is required, with an emphasis on managing and organizing financial transactions.
  • Experience in coding invoices, ensuring the accurate allocation of costs to the correct accounts.
  • Strong data entry skills, with the ability to input large volumes of data quickly and accurately.
  • Demonstrated expertise in invoice processing, including the verification and reconciliation of invoices.
  • Knowledge of construction or contractor industry, understanding its unique financial requirements and processes.
  • Proven ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies in financial data.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • A relevant certification or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field would be advantageous.
