Special Inspector/Field Engineer
- Complete assigned inspection as scheduled by dispatch
- Perform scheduled inspection during the time assigned – inspect, review and submit reports according to NYS DOB code and approved drawings
- Usual schedule is 7am-3:30pm
- Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
- NYS PE, Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree with field experience
- Ideal candidates must hold certifications from ICC, AWS, NICET and/or ACI including:
- ICC Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Concrete Special Inspector, Spray-Applied Fireproofing, Steel Reinforcement, Welding, Bolting, ECC, ACI I and/or II, CWI, NICET II Soils, UT Shearwave Level II
- Technical, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree pertaining to the Engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.) a plus.
- Candidates must be familiar with the New York City Building Code
- Ability to read prints and find inspection locations
- Ability to produce inspection reports according to company standards
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Reliable means of transportation necessary.
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards
- Must be punctual, reliable with good attention to detail
- Ability to work various shifts
- Ability to travel numerous job sites daily
- Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic
- Able to communicate effectively with a variety of project managers
- Prepare and electronically submit daily reports
- Organized and efficient
- Authorized to work in the U.S with a valid driver license
