Staff Accountant

We are welcoming a Staff Accountant into our team. Located in San Francisco, California, this role falls within the nonprofit industry and will involve a blend of onsite and wfh days. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handling data entry tasks related to Accounts Receivables (AR)
• Processing payroll in a timely and efficient manner
• Performing reconciliation tasks to ensure accurate accounting records
• Handling and processing Accounts Payable (AP) including credit card transactions
• Managing and fulfilling PBC requests within the specified period
• Using software such as QuickBooks Enterprise and Bill.com for various accounting tasks
• Ensuring all accounting activities are in compliance with the industry standards and company policies
• Leveraging your previous accounting experience to maintain and enhance our accounting processes
• Applying your detail-oriented skills to ensure accuracy in all accounting tasks
• Working within prescribed work hours to ensure all tasks are completed on time.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations
• Experience with General Ledger management
• Familiarity with Journal Entries creation and management
• Proven experience with Month End Close processes
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks
• Experience in managing bi-Monthly Payroll
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills, able to meet deadlines
• Familiarity with relevant legal regulations and best practices in accounting.
