Project engineer
A Project Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization in the Lexington, KY area. The Project Engineer is responsible for leading the planning and execution of new material and paint trials for the Body Paint and Bumper Paint departments.
The Project Engineer will play a key role in implementing new colors, materials, and technologies. This position requires an understanding of material performance and cost-reduction initiatives in a hybrid work environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant experience, with at least 2 years of manufacturing project management experience.
- Experience in color evaluations and paint design is highly desired.
- The role involves up to 15% travel to various locations, including the U.S. and Canada.

- Lead planning, evaluation, and implementation of new colors and materials in Body and Bumper Paint shops
- Conduct lab workability and online testing for new materials
- Establish process controls for new materials and technologies
- Lead problem-solving initiatives across multiple divisions
- Assess the environmental impacts of new materials and technologies
- Collaborate on CPU impact for new material development
