• A New Haven County-based manufacturer is seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in Accounting/Accounts Payable and a strong background in general office administration. This position will be onsite 5 days per week.

experience: 5 Years

• Primary contact for Accounts Payable functions.
• Analyze spending trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Process invoices and client payments promptly.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly AP reports for management and external accountants.
• Reconcile monthly bank statements and execute month-end closings.
• Set up new vendors and maintain vendor records.
• Backup support for Accounts Receivable.

• Prepare weekly payroll reports for external provider.
• Manage employee benefits (insurance, 401k) and liaise with providers.
• Select and negotiate with administrative vendors.
• Scan invoices and documents per the company's Quality Management System.
• Office management tasks:
• Maintain company calendar.
• Develop inventory system for office supplies.
• Liaise with facilities management.
• Provide general office and personnel support.

qualifications:

• Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
• Basic knowledge of benefits administration.
• Proven experience in Accounts Payable (Manufacturing experience preferred).
• 5+ years of continuous service with one company in the last 10 years.
• Strong team player with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
• Positive, "can-do" attitude.
