Responsibilities:
St. Joseph Medical Center is looking for a full time day shift Manager of the Sterile Processing team!
The Sterile Processing Manager will direct the reprocessing and sterilization of instruments and supplies in the perioperative environment. The duties of the Sterile Processing Manager include, but are not limited to:
- manages the staff members in the Sterile Processing Department
- maintains a constant state of departmental regulatory readiness with proper documentation and compliance of all staff and sterile processing records
- consult with staff, physicians and Nurse Executive on issues and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure all instrument and reprocessing needs are met
- maintains performance improvement activities within the department
- ensures timeliness of instrumentation turnover
- coordinate with the OR (Operating Room) with regard to instrument replacement, functionality and instrument/tray set completeness
- assists with formulation of budget for the department
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience- completed education as a Sterile Processing Instrument Technician and/or Surgical Technologist, required
- minimum five (5) years of experience in Sterile Processing or Surgical Services, preferred
- minimum of two years supervisory/management experience, required
- CRST certification, required
- CIS Certification through IAHCSMM within 1 year of employment
- BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
